Born in Sin or Born Sinner?
TOPIC: Born in Sin or Born Sinner?
We are born in sin. We are not born sinners. To be born in sin is different from being born a sinner.
We are commanded to be in the world, but be not of the world. To be in the world does not make one a sinner unless one yields to the temptations of the world.
Just because one is born with a fallen sinful nature; that does not make one a sinner automatically. No one is a sinner by birth or by the fallen sinful nature inherited from Adam without one's choice.
Since sin is in the world, thus, we are born in sin. But we are not born sinners. We are born in a world where there is so much sin. None of us are born sinful. We are born with a fallen sinful nature and that does not make us sinners naturally.
We are sinners by the transgression of the law - 1 John 3:4. Without the transgression of the law, one is not a sinner. All have sinned because all have transgressed the law of God. When I say, "ALL," I am not referring to babies. The babies do not sin because they do not know what is right from wrong. When I say, "ALL," I am referring to all of us who can read what I am saying, and those who have reached the age of accountability where God alone knows. .
Jesus Christ though He was born with the fallen sinful nature, He was not a sinner by birth. Had Jesus Christ transgressed the law, He would have become a sinner. The only way that Jesus Christ could become a sinner is, if He transgressed the law. Despite His birth with a fallen sinful nature, He was not a sinner by birth.
